Lismore photographer Andrew Sooby’s been on a bit of a road trip recently. “We were traveling through Broken Hill and we stopped at the Broken Hill Sculpture Park,” he says. “When we saw this horse cut into immensely hard sandstone transported from Wilcannia in the 90’s. It’s a homage to Georgian horses, all of which Stalin ‘requested’ to be shot. I quote ‘requested’ from the info plaque. But quite the wrong word, I feel. Way too polite for such a mindlessly savage order.”
