Byron Bay based grunge four piece The Badlands put on a show of epic, raucous proportions at The Northern last Saturday night. “With the usual turnout of local support from the Byron crowd, the venue enjoyed some of the best of what the town has to offer in floor-quaking, guttural, dirty rock ’n’ roll,” says photographer Heidi Flumm of her Shot of the Week. With a loyal following in the Bay, The Badlands are arguably the perfect band for The Northern stage, with the ideal combination of robust, energetic music that perfectly compliments the grungy nature of the venue. The band are set to hit the studio this week to record their next single ‘Pretty Little Things’ with Hydro Funk Records Dave Atkins. The single is due for release in early September.
